Coding Education Specialist

Kathy has over 29 years of healthcare experience, beginning as a Medical Assistant in a General Surgery practice. She also worked for a large insurer doing code reviews and providing staff education. Her experience also includes working as a Medical Assistant, Medical Biller/AR Specialist and Medical Coder.

Kathy began specializing in coding compliance in 2008 working for a large University Medical Faculty practice.  She conducted chart audits and educated providers on proper documentation and code selection. She was a key member in implementing compliance programs and is well versed in regulatory, compliance, coding and documentation requirements. 
 
She is a member of Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA) and is an active member of her local AAPC Chapter (American Academy of Professional Coders) where she has served as the Education Officer since 2016. She is a Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA), Certified Risk Coder (CRC) and Certified Professional Coding Instructor (CPC-I).

Her leisure time is spent cruising the back roads on her motorcycle, camping and enjoying the company of family and friends.
